The 127-mile-long Seward Highway between Anchorage and Seward is a National Scenic Byway, as well as an All-American Road. The trip normally takes a little over 2 hours, but enticing stops along the way could extend your drive. | Founded in 1903 as the southern terminus of a railroad to the interior, Seward is still served by the Alaska Railroad. The Coastal Classic between Anchorage and Seward runs daily from May to September.
